AP News reported in in the Arab News, Middle East section on Jan. 23rd that the Russians are supplying the Syrians with 30 YAK-130 combat jet aircraft. The article cited Kommersant as the source. I reviewed a translated version of Kommersant, looking for the source article, and could not find any mention of the transaction. I did find news in a Russian source here that did verify the story. The deal was apparently signed last month.
Russian analyst Ruslan Pukhov, based in Moscow and who heads the Center for Analysis of Stategies and Technologies (a Russian operation), stated that the YAK-130 cannot stand up to US F-16s, flown by America, Israel and Turkey. But it is a nice looking package, as you will see in the video.
